Embedded Firmware Engineer

The ideal candidate possesses strong Firmware skills along with the ability and desire to generate ideas for new products, features and applications. Experience interfacing with marketing/sales and customers is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Firmware development for embedded processors and peripherals
• Development of Unit and QA test routines
• Graphical user interface development
• Integration and validation of third party industrial networking protocols such as CANOpen, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus/TCP/RTU and Profibus.
• Real time operating system architecture
• Development of system and hardware level diagnostic routines, error handling, bootloaders and event logging
• Embedded Ethernet interfaces including email, web server and ftp transfer.
• Contribute to Windows applications in higher level languages such as Visual Basic, C++, Java, LabView or HMI/Scada platforms
• Documentation for all firmware development and verification testing

Requirements:

• A BSEE (MSEE preferred) and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience
• Excellent verbal, written communication and computer skills
• High level organizational skills including the ability to multi-task in a fast paced entrepreneurial, growing company environment
• Experience with MATLAB and TI’s Code Composer Studio or IAR Workbench for ARM platforms
• A flexible, positive team player

Platforms include: 16 and 32bit microcontrollers and DSP’s from TI (TMS320F28XX), ST (STR912) and Intel/Marvell (XScale) processors running Windows CE. Opportunity for similar hardware level design work is also available, but is not a requirement for this position.
